Iran Exhibits Anti-Jewish Art

There is instead a drawing of a Jew with a very large nose, a nose so large it obscures his entire head. Across his chest is the word Holocaust. Another drawing shows a vampire wearing a big Star of David drinking the blood of Palestinians. A third shows Ariel Sharon dressed in a Nazi uniform, emblazoned not with swastikas but with the Star of David.

"It is not that we are against a specific religion," said the show's curator, Seyed Massoud Shojaei, making a distinction that visitors to the show are certain to question. "We are against repression by the Israelis."

Mr. Shojaei said none of the images were intended as anti-Jewish, only anti-Zionist and anti-Israeli — and of course, anti-American and anti-British. As evidence, he said Iranians lived peacefully with this country's Jews.

They are not against a specific religion. Just Jews and Israel.

For all those who are supportive of questioning the holocaust (and I know that there are lots of you on Newsvine, judging from previous articles, posts and comments on the subject), those who claim that anyone who connects anti-Israel and anti-Jewish are doing so with no basis, and those who have no problem condemning the connection of Jews to Israel as being racist while maintaining that your position is completely devoid of racism, it looks like you are in good company with Iran and Ahmadinejad.

(Oh, and for some reason I doubt there are going to be violent flag-burning protests outside of Iranian embassies all over the world, led by irate Jews calling out "Death to Iran" in response to the insult made to the Jewish religion. In their effort at "exposing what some here see as Western hypocrisy" they have done exactly the opposite - they have shown exactly how repressive their culture is in comparison to those that they are so eager to condemn)

I agree. However I think you reacting in this way shows that you are in fact irked by it. Dont even give them that. They think doing something like this will get a reaction, however western nations are not like them. we do not freak out if our religion or way of life is poked fun at. We watch southpark and see George bush and Jesus defacate on each other and think its funny.

I think the Muslim world needs a laugh every now and then. If they are too proud to make fun of themselves i guess they must make fun of someone else. However they are not going to get a reaction out of us similar to the "Mohammad in the newspaper" fiasco.

I say big $#$#%@# deal. its propaganda, and eventually when they are bold enough to attack someone and lose... and they become "the democratic state of Iran" then the people will laugh at old propaganda pictures on the arab version of boing boing.

(sorry for the rant, im bored)

your response is so typical.
"us Jews should just get over it and stop whining"
and actually your response is very anti semitic, so kudos to you

I am so tired of the world condemning, berating, scolding and using freedom of speech to air out all their hatred and anti semitism.

what would happen to me if I had a showing at a museum with art work depicting mohammed in a negative way? or artwork of the koran burning?

how about if I had derogatory artwork of Black slaves?

Just two examples, do you think the muslims and the Black communities should just have a "laugh" over it?

your comment is pointless and anti semitic.

The so called art and cartoons are vile and demonstrate the continuing the depth of hatred for Jews and the USA that permeates the Muslim society.

When you eat, drink, sleep, draw, paint, speak, and pray hatred, you become an animal. The hate programming of millions expands daily as we sit here doing nothing.

Wow. That's not even almost what he said. And I can't possibly imagine how you see even the slightest hint of anti-Semitism in his comment.

I couldn't agree with him more. Acknowledging the existence of this nonsense is giving it more credit than it deserves. To actually let it upset you is even worse, because that's their goal. The best way to combat such childishness is to ignore it, or, even better, to laugh at just how spectacularly the people who put on this display are missing the point.

Should the Jewish community just stick it's head in the sand, and pretend that there aren't Islamo-facists in the world who hate them, simply because they are Jews? Get real here!

The European community tried that once with another facist, and look at the cost; tens of millions dead. Had England and her allies come up with a proactive response to Germany's provocative moves, WWII might have been avoided.

The time of the ostrich approach has long since passed, we need th let the Iranian government know that there are some lines you do not cross.

Honestly though, what did you expect? There isn't a reason to freak out over it. It's not like this is a surprise. We already know Muslims are prejudice against ALL other religions and ethnic groups. Jews aren't the only ones, though they are the closest ones, which is why they get bashed more than other groups.

This cartoon isn't going to cause anyone to die and it brings to the surface what they really feel and think. If anything it should be a reminder why you can't trust these people because there lives revolve around hate, not love.

It works both ways.

Are you now to say that the nation of Israel is the spokesperson for the Jewish Religion?

Certainly this is ludicrous.

Yet, you are happy to protect the Jewish Nation's policy from criticism under the guise of religion.

Sure, there are a lot of people who hate Israel AND jews, but that doesn't make being anti-Israel indefensible or racist in any way.

To proclaim otherwise is pseudo-liberal babbel.

Hey, to think of it, all the anti-Bush, or anti-Americanism from home and abroad is really making me
feel that I am being persecuted because of my race and religion.

(yea, that's right, the Jews can play the race card, the religion card, or the national card, whenever it suits their needs.)

I think it is interesting that anonymous goyims page here at the vine is entitled "zionazi". We can be sure that his comments have no ethical taint in any direction. The simple fact is that Islamists play the race, religion, and nation card constantly. Ahmedinejad, Nassrallah, Hezbollah, and every other Islamic jew hater is there to constantly remind us that an action against one muslim, is an attack against all of Islam. It is in this way that they can play the "palestinian" card as an excuse and justification for their utterly uncivilized actions and beliefs. Trust me when I say that as far as the arab world is concerned.. that is the only use they have for the palestinians. As reguarding this old news about the cartoons in Iran... would you really expect anything less than this Stalinesque denial and journey into doublespeak? The main difference here is that jews throughout the world are not going to burn mosques and demand the heads of every imam in the world.

There is no great act that does not involve a grea

Ah, how easy it is to blame WW2 on Germany.

Forget that Keynes predicted it as he signed the Treaty of Versailles for the allies.

As I recall, Lord Balfour promised Palestine (axis controlled) land to Lord Rothschild in 1917.

It seems like Britain gets away with their imperialism.

They never had to resort to the savagery that the Third Reich had to, after all, they had the good credit of the Americans and the International Jewry, and all their enimies were brown people, so they didn't have a voice in parliament.

This is what people call the "peaceful" war. They fought those who couldn't defend themselves, and totally subjugated them, (peacefully)

Armed conflict is not the only atrocity of war. The aggression that occurs even with preparations for war is the true cause of violence.

Germany was a people fighting for their survival, caught between two despotic and imperial powers, the West and the Soviets.

Islamisits do not use race as an excuse to marginalize their detractors. Islam is not a religion for a "chosen people". It is a religion for all of God's creation.

Why else would african, arabic, persian, all kinds of asians embrace this religion?

I also believe that the islamic faith is in dire need of a reformation.

Yet, it is the West's imperial aims to back despotic regimes, for only a subjugated society can be looted of all their natural wealth.

After all, our army in Saudi Arabia was there not to protect the country from outsiders, but to protet the Royal family from their own subjects.

We have created this problem, now its hitting home.

Just like England's strategy to weaken the continental powers of europe, and counterbalance those powers. It allowed the lightning war tactics.

    This was by design.

So, let me just make sure I have everything clear:

Britian had an unapologetic policy of colonizing the world, and in areas that were already settled by non-whites in high numbers, extraction and exploitation were the norm, in fact, the virtue to serve the empire.

In places with sparse populations that were more of a nuissance than viable prey, they were exterminated casually, among volunteers who wanted the land.

And of course to fund all of this wonder they made use of the African slave trade profits, and slave labor.

These meritorious fellows then met with their "fascist" adversary. (a man of principle)

Britian had a policy of starving the German economy.

World wars for imperialist powers were predicted by Marx, Lenin, etc.

They needed to happen. Reparations paid in blood.

Those who maintain that Hitler was "mad", or "evil", simply live by the story told by the victors.

After all, it was a great man who said - "It is not truth that matters, but victory"
