One of the Naval Special Forces commandos who sustained a broken arm while under attack by the S.S. Mavi Marmaris' passengers, reports, "Each soldier who descended was grabbed by three or four men and they simply exploded, beating him up. They lynched us.

"They had metal clubs, knives, slingshots, glass bottles…At one point there was also live fire.

"I was among the last to descend, and I saw that the group was dispersed, everyone in his own corner surrounded by three or four men. I saw a soldier on the floor with two men beating him. I peeled them off of him and they came at me and began beating me with the clubs.

"That's how I broke my arm. At that moment I had no weapon in my hands, like everyone else who descended on the cables empty-handed. My paintball gun was behind me.

Yesterday I just had an insight-- although I suppose it should have been obvious all along. Committing suicide is nothing new for Islamic extremists-- and particularly for those who are Palestinians. But I think what we've seen here is a slight modification of that classic tactic. Rather than blowing themselves up with a bomb belt, they tried something new-- a classic case of "Suicide by Cop":

Suicide by cop is a suicide method in which a suicidal individual deliberately acts in a threatening way, with the goal of provoking a lethal response from a law enforcement officer or other armed individual, such as being shot to death

You bet; and, martyrdom and P.R. is still the goal.

Do not trust those who believe the Arab account, particularly when the word "jihad" is used.

The ONLY good thing about the jihadists, is that they practice a brand of religion which tends to weed out its violent adherents.

Unfortunately, these nutters also take out innocent bystanders with their half-baked religion of hate and despair.

In my opinion, the US needs to pull out of Afghanistan and Iraq, and stop being such a negative and UNWANTED presence in the region!
