One picture cropped to remove a knife might be explained as incompetence or a simple mistake.
But now we have two pictures from the "peace activists" that were cropped by someone at Reuters to remove knives in the hands of the activists, as they attempted to take soldiers hostage.

That is quite revealing . Did Reuters just take the photo
that the IHH gave them or did they do the cropping ?

Wasn't it al-Reuters that photoshopped those pictrures during the was in Lebanon?

I'm going to be charitable and guess they took the photo given, but it could go either way. The answer to krishna's question could sway my opinion one way or the other.

Are you familiar with the Photoshopped "news photos" that came out of the war in Lebanon?

Reuters definitely cropped them, because the very same pictures appear in the AP, uncropped, showing the knives (see the link for comparison).

Was that war in 2006 ? I am not aware of those photos .
Yes. Charles Johnson of the weblog Little Green Footballs discovered the fakes (actually one of his readers did and sent them to him). He has several series. I believe these are the most important (scroll down-- picts on top of page with knife is current story):
Reuters Doctoring Photos from Beirut?

There are several other series-- under the title
"Fauxtography Updates" (again-- scroll down a bit to see it).
Btw, Charles either invented the term or popularized it-- see #2 HERE
He was also the blogger who discovered the Dan Rather document fraud (before anyone inthe mainstream media did).
His weblog is one of the most widely read on the 'net.

There's no mistake, this is professional "news" that knows a picture is worth a thousand words. They decided to change what was said in a glance with their scissors. It's censorship and disinformation BS to alter anything to distort the perception of the audience. You almost have to laugh at the hubris of the old guarde to keep playing the same tired old boy network games, but the do peddle %$#@ like we don't have the Internet tubes to catch 'em!!
